Summer is the season to bare some skin. It's bikini season once again so its high time to have that smooth, hair free skin. When it comes to achieving hair free skin this summer, electrolysis and laser hair removal are the gold standard. But for a quick and not to mention much cheaper fix, waxing and shaving are the way to go. Summer only comes once a year so you better grab the opportunity to show a little skin. With this, let me share to you some tips to help you get that flawless hair free skin just in time for the hottest season of the year. Here are some of them.

1. Keep your skin moisturized. It is very important to keep your body moisturized especially when removing hair. Moisturizing is a must after shaving and waxing to avoid chaffing and also to minimize irritation.

2. Get a wax at a reputable waxing salon. You have to make sure that you go to a good quality, reputable salon to have any waxing done, especially if it is your first time. Of course, you don't want one bad experience to put you off for life. Be meticulous of the sanitation and the quality of their work. Is the place clean? Are the waxing professionals dressed properly? Do they have masks? Do they double dip? Do they use a new stick everytime? These are only some of the questions that you should ask yourself.

3. Exfoliate before removing hair. One of the best ways, if not the best way, to avoid irritation and prevent ingrown hairs after removing hair is by exfoliating. By exfoliating your skin before shaving or waxing, you're in a way, preparing your skin for the hair removal process. Your bikini area is usually the most prone to ingrown hairs as the hair in this area is more coarse than other parts of the body. Use a gentle scrub to exfoliate your skin to prevent this problem.

4. Test products first. When using depilatory creams when removing unwanted hair, it is very important that you do a skin patch test the night before you plan to use it. Although depilatory creams care usually safe to use on almost all skin types, allergic reactions can occur and of course you don't want that to happen. Also, make sure to read the label carefully as some creams were created to be used on specific parts of the body. Depliatory creams for the face may be different from the cream for your bikini area or legs.
